Tianzi Mountain and Yuanjiajie

Opposite to what most tourists do we hiked up the mountain through the forest. Therefore we had to get off the bus at an intermediate stop, where nobody else got off. This brings the advantage of being basically on your own. The path up is not a natural path bus mostly stone stairs and pavement, slippery when wet.
Then when you reach the top you encounter again large numbers of tourists. Apart from stunning views you will also find souvenir shops, food stalls and even a MacDonald’s.
After that we went by the park’s bus to Yuanjiajie where, among others, the world’s longest outdoor elevator, Hallelujah mountain and the natural bridge are located. The rest of the landscape is similar to Tianzi Mountain.

Al contrario que la mayoría, subimos esta montaña a pie. Para ello dejamos el autobús turístico en una de las estaciones a medio camino. La ventaja es estar prácticamente solos hasta llegar a la cima. El sendero no es por tierra sino por escaleras y losas de piedra que resbalan cuando están mojadas.
En la cima nos volvemos a reunir con la masa de turistas. Aparte de miradores impresionantes, nos encontramos también con tiendas de souvenirs y de comida, y hasta un MacDonald’s.
Después fuimos en bus a Yuanjiajie donde se sitúa el ascensor exterior más alto del mundo, la montaña Hallelujah y el puente natural, entre otros. El resto del paisaje es similar al de la montaña Tianzi.
