邻近 Natoma, California (United States)

Absolutely wonderful hike off the bike path and onto the fascinating dirt trails! (Two short stretches are on the paved trail.)

The bluffs at the start of the hike offer amazing views of the river and across Hwy 50. You are hiking among the tree tops which provide a magical feeling! As you near the river, the trail is steep & rocky as it drops down to the bike trail but nothing this ol' gal couldn't handle (trekking poles advised).

Once you've crossed the bike trail and are following the river upstream, you will be walking over trails and mountains created from the old river dredging in our California past. Therefore, much of the trail is cobble and rock and what I've heard called; "ankle busters" (high-topped hiking boots advised). Please see the B&W photo I've provided - that's my boot to show size-relativity.

After a few moments gazing over the lovely pond at the *Snowberry Creek Trailsign, the return trail travels thru lovely hillsides and shade. The elevation changes here are slight and barely noticeable. Wildflowers were already busting out early in January.
