We (4 girls) followed other trekkers notes to the cave. Which is amazing and certainly worth with side step. We then hugged the base of the rock face before ascending up-to the first summit. Instead of following the ridge to the final Mt Maroon Peak we decided to cut straight across cutting out the scramble part. Was perfect with a little nav skills. Perfect day in every way. Just need a good hot bath and maybe a wine.
