Check out the new 5km Rail Trail which runs from Brooloo to Imbil. It’s an hour NW of the Sunshine Coast. Our trek started at Brooloo where we headed north along a well signed, flat gravel track. A kilometre from the start the surrounding forest grew lush and we were amazed by the resonating sound of dozens of Bell Birds. Further along we caught glimpses of surrounding farmland. It wasn’t long until we reached the quaint little town of Imbil which still has some train track, rail buildings and a wonderful rail bridge over Yabba Creek. Imbil is a great spot to have a snack before retracing your steps back to Brooloo. It’s only a short trail but there is a chance it maybe extended further in the future.
