行程描述
This easy hike follows the Cowichan Valley Trail on the west side of Shawnigan Lake. This section of the CVT is along the old CN Rail line that originally went from Victoria over the Kinsol Trestle to Lake Cowichan and on to Youbou. The line was originally constructed around 1920 with the last train to travel the route using it in 1979.
The turn around point is at the swimming beach at West Shawnigan Lake Provincial Park
where there are toilets, change rooms and a picnic area (with tables).
The Retreads Hiking Club gives this hike an American Volksports Association rating of 1A.
