Turn left here and follow the road through the village

Straight across the road and through the gate.

Towards Millington

Turn right to follow track

Carry on straight across and take the lane on the left to follow the minster way. Follow road round to the right for pub and tea room The church is on your right

Beyond Millington

A bit unclear here, aim for the tree half right from the end of the boardwalk

Millington down

View over the Vale of York. The Minster way meets the Wolds Way at this point. Turn left

Probably one of the most archetypal views of the wolds of many on this walk Carry on following Wolds Way signs

Leaving the Wolds Way

After the gate bear right and follow the path round to continue on the Minster Way. You can continue on the Wolds Way but be aware it skirts round Huggate with its pub, tea room and church

Road crossing

Continue straight. Turning left takes you to Huggate but is a tedious walk

Into Huggate

Turn left on the road

Go straight across at the crossroads. The tea room is to the left. Pub to the right

Leaving Huggate

Take this path down to the left at the edge of the village and join a farm track turning left. You can go straight on here to join the wolds way

Re-joining the Wolds Way

Take the right turn at the footpath sign. Follow the field edge then through the gate and turn right

Along the top

Looking up the Dale. We rejoin the Wolds Way beyond the wood

Back on the Wolds way

We'll be on the Wolds Way now until Thixendale. Plenty of signs

At the main road (a166) turn right then take the next turning left. To the right there is a shop at the garage and a little bit further along a café
