This trail has many names: Kfarhelda, Bet Shlala, Boxmayya, etc.
We started the trail from KAftoun and walk clockwise, to reach the waterfalls then back by the Nahr Jawz bank passing by the Kaftoun Monastery and back to the cars.
The group I had was split into two: one that finished the trail at the waterfall and the rest (5 of us) did the whole loop.
This day it seems that all Lebanese decided to go outdoors; The trail was so congested with people that it slowed us down.
A great trail; however, I was bothered by a certain behavior by one of the locals (George Daniel) who approached us to demand payment LL100,000.00 per person for passing on a dirt road that passed by "his land", despite the fact that there was no signs warning us not to go by this person's land. This was the first time that my faith in the hospitality of the Lebanese was shaken. In my whole hiking adventures in Lebanon, the locals were generous and hospitable inviting us to their homes and orchards to taste whatever fruits were in season. I am 100% sure that the people of Bsateen Osi are great people but some bad apples give a bad name to the village. Anyway, there is another route to avoid this guy and his shaking guests for money.
All in all, it is wonderful trail to trek.
P.S. I am ranking it as moderate for the 20 km part and easy for the 10 km section.
