行程描述
This trail is located in the Serjbal village in the Chouf district of Mount Lebanon. The trail started from the Serjbal Municipality Building. The trail starts on pavement/cement steep road for about 600+ meters then you dive into heaven! The minute you set foot on dirt path, you are in awe. The trail takes you down to the river bank where you walk by the side of thr rive until you reach the Fkhayti (Arabic word meaning a hole between two mountains). From Fkhayti, the trail leaves the river bank into a moderate uphill trail towards the St. Abda (mar Abda) church in Fkhayti. We took a tea break at the church and continued into the Fkhayti sector of Dibbiyyeh (there was a road that is actually carved of stones) and into Benwayti; this section of the road was in oak and pine forest and part on dirt road.
The trail then took a downhill turn to reach an area on the river called Tayyab (Duct mouth) Chaaya (Isaiah). A pond named after some Isaiah that drowned there years & years ago. The are is so beautiful that made the trail ending better than the beginning.

Tayyab Jawzi
The walnut water outlet. Named after a huge walnut tree located next to the river where villagers used to take their food and spend the day away from their homes.

Fadi Kazzi Spring
A spout made of bamboo stick coming out of the side of the hill right by the river bank. The sign says: Drinkable!

Samak (Fish) Bridge
If I were to guess, I would say this area was used for fresh water fishing.

Fkhayti
Fkhayti is an Arabi word meaning the hole. Here it means the hole between two mountains. The area is surrounded by two almost vertical rocky cliffs.

McSaab (Aal Saab) Watermill
This watermill belongs to the Saab clan (Elie Saab the international Haute Couture belongs to them) from the Fkhayti neighborhood of Dibbiyyeh. this mill is actually in a good shape going to a bad shape if the municipality/owners don't make any moves to preserve it!

Mar (Saint) Abda Church
Mar Abda is a saint by the Syriac Orthodox Church. This church is named after him.

Accurate
Is the trail clear and well marked even without the app?
Yes.
Pay attention for the Nab3 El Sittat signs (you don't want to miss it); it is the highlight of the trail. Also, if you want to avoid the steep uphill pavement at the end, I recommend you use the last trail I did there starting from Shamaarine (do it in reverse); it is much easier.
